I loved Sarah's character development, world building, and series development in Throne of Glass. So I am expecting similar habits in this book, although the plot will be much different than Throne of Glass.

I have been searching for a fantasy series with a strong female protagonist, sexy bad boy, and action-packed plot that is targeted towards a more adult audience. I feel like Sarah wrote this specifically to my tastes! The release date cannot come fast enough!

Set to become a trilogy with projected publications in 2015, 2016, and 2017

I was first drawn to this book by the cover. Seriously it is gorgeous! I give it an A+.

Books in the dystopian genre are sometimes overdone and lack the unique edge that sets the book apart from others in its genre. I think this book does stand out. In reading other Goodreads reviews, I found that a lot of people were comparing this book to Divergent, the Maze Runner, or the Hunger Games. But really the only thing this book has in common with these books is the genre. Shatter Me has a unique plot with twists that would be popular with readers of the above books. Here is a brief description of the book:

Juliette hasn't touched anyone in 264 days. The last time she did, she was locked away for murder by The Reestablishment. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she is locked up, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly, and clouds are the wrong color. The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, but people are whispering rebellion. Now The Reestablishment have changed its mind and taken her. Maybe Juliette is exactly what they need right now: a weapon. But what if Juliette wants to be a warrior?

If you cannot appreciate beautiful metaphors, personifications, or anything of this sort, then you might find Mafi's writing a bit wordy and it is probably not for you. I loved her writing and was hooked from the first sentence! Her words really moved me and I found a bunch of beautiful new quotes for me to share! You have to understand that Juliette is on the verge on insanity because of her lack of human exposure. Mafi's writing in this book really reflects Juliette's state of mind.
